Welcome to the Vortex Jobcentre
The Vortex Jobcentre is a comprehensive, free Second Life community directory engineered to bridge the gap between talented creators, performers, event organisers, and venue proprietors across the grid.
Whether you are a seasoned LSL scripter offering bespoke HUD programming, an experienced DJ looking for weekend residencies, a 3D Bento rigger producing custom apparel, or a club owner recruiting reliable hostesses and dancers, the Jobcentre offers an intuitive platform to advertise your availability or post job openings.
Two Primary Listing Modes
The Vortex Jobcentre categorises all postings into two distinct streams:
- ?? Offering Services (Available for Hire): Tailored for freelancers, creators, performers, and staff who want to showcase their skills, set their rates, present portfolio links, and connect with potential clients or employers.
- ?? Hiring / Job Vacancies (Seeking Talent): Designed for clubs, sim owners, creator brands, and roleplay groups actively seeking talent to fill vacancies. Employers can clearly detail position responsibilities, working hours, and compensation.

Interactive Avatar Profile Selection
When publishing an advertisement, members can personalise their listing card with an avatar profile picture:
- Archetype Presets: Choose from curated, high-definition character archetypes representing various Second Life professions.
- SL Texture UUID Integration: Enter any valid Second Life Texture UUID (e.g.
00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000). The system automatically resolves and renders the image via the official Second Life picture service. - Direct Web URLs: Provide a direct link to your personal web portfolio image or Flickr artwork.
Verified Second Life Locations (SLURLs)
To ensure high quality and prevent broken or deceptive links, all in-world location fields are strictly validated against genuine Second Life coordinates. The system accepts standard maps.secondlife.com links, legacy slurl.com addresses, secondlife:///app/teleport/ viewer URIs, or plain region coordinate strings (e.g. Region Name/128/128/23), automatically transforming them into one-click teleport action buttons.
