Creatures in Vortex The Duel belong to four elemental affinities, each governing strategic strengths and vulnerabilities:
- ▸Bio (🟢 Nature & Flora): Excels at regeneration, poison damage over time, and leeching enemy health. Strong against Cyber; vulnerable to Radiation.
- ▸Radiation (🟡 Nuclear & Energy): High burst damage, armour-piercing radiation flares, and high critical hit ratios. Strong against Bio; vulnerable to Mech.
- ▸Cyber (🔵 Digital & Shields): Focuses on kinetic forcefields, energy drain, counter-attacks, and disabling enemy moves. Strong against Mech; vulnerable to Bio.
- ▸Mech (🔴 Armour & Heavy Steel): Colossal defensive plating, heavy kinetic hammer attacks, and status immunity. Strong against Radiation; vulnerable to Cyber.

Each creature enters the arena with a bespoke combat deck consisting of:
