FIRESTORM VIEWER DOWNLOADS & RADAR
The authoritative industrial distribution portal for the Phoenix Firestorm Viewer. Equipped with native builds for Second Life (Havok Physics engine) and OpenSimulator (Hypergrid enabled). Monitored by our automated daily crawler to guarantee that you are always running the latest stable release.
Second Life Edition (Havok Engine)
Tailored exclusively for the Second Life main grid (Agni and Aditi). Includes Linden Lab’s proprietary Havok Physics sub-system required for convex mesh decomposition, physics shape calculations, and standard Second Life asset publishing.
Standard release for modern Windows gaming rigs. Optimized with AVX2 instruction sets for highest framerates in dense PBR mesh environments.
Engineered for macOS 12+ with full Retina high-DPI scaling, Metal graphics emulation, and Havok physics for Second Life.
Precompiled portable tarball with bundled dependencies, Havok physics, and Vulkan / OpenGL 4.5 rendering support.
OpenSimulator Edition
Engineered for independent virtual worlds, Hypergrid networks, and independent OpenSimulator grids (such as OSGrid, Metropolis, Kitely). Excludes proprietary Havok dependencies (using ODE/Bullet physics), and provides full Grid Manager flexibility to add custom login URIs.
The primary build for OpenSim architects and metaverse operatives. Full Hypergrid teleportation, OSSL functions, and variable region (VarRegion) support.
macOS OpenSim client for wandering the Hypergrid and connecting to independent metaverse communities with seamless graphics.
Robust Linux distribution package for OpenSim server admins, developers, and operatives connecting from Unix environments.
Official Firestorm Clean Installation Protocol
To prevent texture cache corruption, ghost inventory glitches, and crash-to-desktop events when upgrading between viewer generations, always follow the Firestorm Project clean install standard.
Backup Your Settings & Chats
Inside Firestorm, go to Preferences > Backup > Backup Settings. Save your XML configuration file to a safe folder on your desktop. This preserves your keybindings, custom graphics presets, quick preferences, and window arrangements.
Uninstall Older Viewer
On Windows, go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, locate Firestorm, and choose Uninstall. On macOS, drag the old Firestorm application from /Applications into the Trash.
Purge Stale AppData Folders
Press Win + R, type %appdata%, and delete the Firestorm folder. Then go to %localappdata% and clear the Firestorm cache folder. On Mac: delete ~/Library/Application Support/Firestorm and ~/Library/Caches/Firestorm.
Run Clean Installer & Restore
Install the newly downloaded 7.2.5 (Build 81788) binary. Launch the viewer, log into an empty sandbox region (e.g., Pooley or a quiet region), let your inventory completely fetch, and then restore your backup via Preferences > Backup > Restore.
System Requirements & PBR Engine Specifications
